How to Tell You Are Not Ready for a Parrot…

  • Big beaks scare you.
  • Medium-sized beaks on animals with big attitudes scare you.
  • Small beaks on animals with HUGE attitudes scare you.
  • You are not prepared to have your household run by a bird.
  • You need to be the center of attention, ever.
  • You do not like to chop vegetables and then pick them up off the floor.
  • You will not spend half of your free time playing with a bird and the other half shopping for toys that they can play with when you're out working so you can afford more toys and vegetables.
  • You have children that can't understand the phrase, "Keep your hands out of the birdie's cage."
  • You may disregard the above if you have excellent health insurance.
  • You don't have a really good sense of humor, because parrots do.
  • You are not prepared to have a lifelong, exhausting, exasperating, and absolutely spectacular experience.
