President's Letter

Dear Beak n Wings members, volunteers, donors, and supporters:

I would like to welcome you to Beak n Wings. This has been a long road for the organization. Beak n Wings turned 22 years old January 1, 2022! We could not have done it without the help of our members, volunteers, donors and supporters. Thank you all very much.

Beak n Wings is currently lining up more events for 2022. We are trying to line up events so that we can get into the public again, subject to changes depending on the COVID 19 situation. We are hoping to attend parades, our annual bike ride, and many other events. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page, we will post events and venues as we get them lined up. Volunteers are always welcome to help with setup and breakdown.
Beak n Wings will be holding our Annual Picnic and other social events at our facility in Lenexa. Members, remember that you can earn Birdie Bucks by working at events. You can cash them in on bird adoptions, toys, and other items.

We are always looking for volunteers to help out at our facility (cleaning cages, caring for the birds, and other duties). We are also looking for tradesmen such as a plumber, electrician, and builder etc. to help with repair and changes within the facility. If you are able to help us, please email us at admin@beaknwings.org.

Beak n Wings operates on donations from the public, our fundraising events, adoptions of birds, and the sale of small items from our facility. Please note that Beak n Wings is NOT a pet store. We do not sell bird food, we have a small selection of toys for sale, and used cages.

Since 2003 Beak n Wings has taken in over 2200 birds. We make sure they are on healthy diets, take most of them (larger than cockatiels) to the vet, and rehabilitate those in need. All birds are observed for 30 days before they are put up for adoption.
We offer our Basic Bird Care 101 class, which is required for adoption. We are also holding our Advanced Bird Care Class. We are currently lining up live speakers for each month in 2022. We hope you can attend some of them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I will be updating it as needed.
