How to help
Beak n Wings, Inc. is a small 501c3 non-profit organization, dedicated to the safety and care of parrots and other exotic birds. Financial gifts are necessary to the survival and success of a non-profit organization. Financial gifts are the most common type of donation, but all kinds of donations are needed and appreciated. There are many ways to support a non-profit that you care about. The options below will show you other meaningful ways you can donate to Beak n Wings.
Since 1993, Beak n Wings has taken in over 2000 birds! Today, Beak ‘n Wings has over 60 parrots in our rescue program. We are in great need of donations to provide homeless parrots with proper care.
WE ARE A NO KILL SHELTER
Our parrots will never be euthanized due to overcrowding. It costs a lot to feed each bird a healthy diet, and provide appropriate cages, toys, and veterinary care. We also must cover other costs, such as website fees, rent, office supplies, transportation costs, phone bills, etc. Our volunteers receive no pay.
WE DEPEND ENTIRELY UPON YOUR DONATIONS
From quality pellets, fresh foods, toys and aviary repairs to utilities, accounting, office supplies, insurances, internet and phone service to trash service…your donation helps with all the daily nuts and bolts of running a parrot rescue.
Volunteering with Beak n Wings is a great way to learn more about parrots. Whether you are considering your first bird, moving from a small bird to a larger one, or caring for an established flock; working with our members will improve your knowledge of parrots. Our events range from a few hours meeting the public to multiple day events. No matter what size or location though, we always have a lot of fun and there will always be parrots!

Our birds are family. We do everything possible to help our birds if they become sick or injured. We also provide lifetime care for birds who will never be adopted due to health or behavioral issues. In 2022 we have taken in an unusual number of special needs birds, several that were formerly breeders. You can sponsor one of our special needs birds.
Timothy - Sponsor Needed
This is Timothy, an older Congo African Grey. He is a former breeder who was living in a typical breeder cage in a basement, alone since his (her?) mate passed away. He is mostly blind, we think he may be able to see some light and shadows. He has liver and kidney problems. His owner had dementia and couldn't care for him or even tell us his actual name. His nails were terribly overgrown. He will spend the rest of his days in the care of one of our foster homes, doing everything they can to make him feel safe and comfortable.
Joey
I’m Joey, the Yellow Collared Macaw. I came to BNW in 2019 at over 30 years old and passed over the Rainbow Bridge in the fall of 2022. I was loved and am terribly missed by my foster mom.
Annie - Sponsor Needed
Hello, my name is now Annie but no one knows if I had a name before. I am Jardine's Parrot. I should have some lovely orange feathers on top of my head, but my mate plucked them in years past. I came to BNW with Timothy in 2022, from the same breeder. I spent much of my time in my nest box, although my mate had passed away. I am adjusting well to my foster home although I prefer not to be handled, the food is lovely! I am not adoptable due to liver disease.
Oscar - Sponsor Needed
Hi there, I am Oscar and I am a Lutino Indian Ringneck. My age is unknown, my previous owner had health problems and so I came to BNW along with many of her other birds. While some of my friends have been adopted, I have kidney problems that haven’t improved with better care. I am looking for a sponsor to help with my expenses.
Thanks to our individual and business sponsors:

We want to send a huge thank you to the Petfinder Foundation and their generous donors for their grant of $500 to Beak N Wings! That money will go a long ways towards feeding the birds in our care. "We've been using Petfinder.com for over 20 years at Beak N Wings. They offer a lot of support for rescues like ours and have helped us find new homes for hundreds and hundreds of birds over the years" said Jennifer Clair, VP of adoptions here at BNW.
We want to give a huge thanks to ZuPreem for sending over an assortment of food for the birds at our facility! We encourage everyone to feed their birds pellets instead of seeds in order to provide the nutrition they need. Zupreem products have the essential vitamins and minerals to keep birds happy and healthy!
Marley is busy taste testing all the different flavors and will report back.
A Corporate or Business Sponsorship benefits both your company and our mission. Your company’s sponsorship is recognized by BNW with an acknowledgment in our advertising, website and signage that your business supports our activities, programs, or special events.
Additionally, corporate sponsorships attract the attention of for-profit businesses because sponsorships offer public recognition of the business’s connection with a certain charitable cause, which may help your business attract new customers or bolster your company’s reputation because of the association with a nonprofit’s good will. BNW, as a charitable nonprofit, in turn, receives financial support and may also experience increased attention from the media and the public, in-kind services, and/or product donations.
We would love to have your company partner with us! For inquiries please email admin@beaknwings.org
We welcome gifts of building materials, cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment, bird stands and toys, pellets or nuts in shell, clean, safe cages…anything that would be useful to a bird rescue. Your donation of goods is tax-deductible.
Also, if you have a skill or area of expertise you can share with BNW such as electrical work, plumbing, building, architecture, design, event planning—all kinds of professions—are all much needed skills if you can spare a weekend to help out. Your time is not tax-deductible, but we have loads of fun working together on projects at BNW, and the parrots are always entertaining!
